SALIFE Absolute Best 2022 winners crowned

The second annual SALIFE Absolute Best Awards were celebrated on Thursday night, where 12 winners were crowned across categories including SA’s Absolute Best Home, Garden, Artist and Product Innovation.

More than 400 people attended the SALIFE Absolute Best Awards, that were held at the iconic Adelaide Town Hall on Thursday night.

Stephanie Malan was named the “New State of Mind” winner, for her work helping disadvantaged new mothers, while architecture firm Studio Gram’s renovation of a Rose Park Queen Anne villa was named the Absolute Best Home and Bliss Outdoor Living had their work on a Medindie garden named Absolute Best Garden.

Other category winners were Julia Robinson (artist), Paolo Sebastian (designer), Sequoia Lodge (luxury experience), Never Never Ginache Gin (new product innovation), d’Arenberg Cube (regional experience), Restaurant Botanic (food and beverage experience), Marjorie Fitz-Gerald (community individual), Monarto Safari Park (family day out), and Something Wild Australia (sustainability initiative).

SALIFE editor Liz Walsh said the magazine was delighted to celebrate the absolute best of South Australia in 2022.

“Last year we created the SALIFE Absolute Best Awards program to put a spotlight on some of the very best work being created and undertaken in South Australia,” she said.

“We needed to do this after COVID because there are so many great people doing great things, and it’s time to celebrate their work. All entrants were nominated by readers and the community and this year we had over 300 nominations, many of which came from the stories we’ve produced in the magazine throughout the year.

“A panel, including editorial staff from SALIFE, made the final selection, which was hard because every finalist is worthy of an award.”
