American and New Zealand aircraft are set to undergo specialist maintenance upgrades at the Deep Maintenance and Modification Facility (DMMF) adjacent to RAAF Base Edinburgh.
The United States Navy’s MQ-4C Triton aircraft fleet (unmanned aerial vehicles) will undergo comprehensive maintenance, repair and overhaul while the New Zealand Defence Force has also confirmed a similar intent for their fleet of P-8A Poseidon aircraft (patrol aircraft based on the Boeing 737-800).
South Australian Treasurer Stephen Mullighan says the DMMF facility would “strengthen opportunities for local supply chains” and “attract more defence projects and add further jobs to SA’s growing aerospace sector”.
The servicing will inject up to $160 million into the local economy and will create and sustain 80 highly skilled jobs across Adelaide. The DMMF base is expected to be completed by mid-2026.
Having bought the Wilpena Pound Resort last year from the Adnyamathanha Traditional Lands Association (ATLA) and Indigenous Business Australia (IBA), the G’day Group said it will deliver meaningful benefits to the Adnyamathanha people, the Traditional Custodians of the land.
“We have an exciting vision for Wilpena Pound Resort and an ambition to evolve it into a globally renowned tourism asset,” G’day Group Chief Executive Officer Grant Wilckens said.
“Importantly, we recognise that we have huge responsibility to this remarkable property and we are excited to build a strong and collaborative relationship with the Adnyamathanha community.”
G’day Group will provide two guaranteed annual apprenticeships and traineeships for Aboriginal employees and has announced a range of current job vacancies, including hospitality, retail, tour guide and management roles.
Wilckens told InDaily that all staff employed at the resort before and during the change of hand, have been offered ongoing positions.
G’day has proposed a $5 million investment into the resort over the next three years
“This is the first of what will be an ongoing capital improvement strategy [of $20 million] that will be funded by G’day Group,” Wilckens said.
The park’s accommodation facilities will be upgraded first along with a marketing campaign across G’day’s extensive customer database to promote visitors to the area.

South Australian prospective miner Magnetite Mines has submitted a provisional patent for its proprietary saline water floatation method, enabling the production of Direct Reduction grade iron ore concentrates suitable for green iron production using saline water.
Magnetite Mines said the process was developed in-house and allows for magnetite ore processing without the need for fresh water, removing the need for a large-scale coastal desalination plant.
“The ability to process our ores with saline water offers a significant environmental and cost advantage, while our continued focus on DR-grade product development positions Magnetite Mines at the forefront of global steel decarbonisation,” managing director Tim Dobson said.

With the harvest of 2025 completed ahead of the Easter period, Richard Hamilton Wines will launch a set of wines including a Chardonnay, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz from McLaren Vale, and a Pinot Gris from the Adelaide Hills.
The Hamilton’s are one of the first winemaking families in South Australia with 188 years and six generations of uninterrupted winemaking. The black and white photographs on the labels of the Lineage set depict significant moments in the Richard Hamilton’s history.
The ‘Lot 148’ McLaren Vale Merlot commemorates the section of land straddling the Sturt River in Marion where Richard Hamilton planted what is arguably South Australia’s first vineyard for winemaking.
The ‘Les Collines’ Adelaide Hills Pinot Gris depicts a member of the Australian Women’s Land Army formed during World War II to combat rising labour shortages in the farming sector, as a consequence of the nation diverting agricultural labour to build up its armed forces.
The Richard Hamilton Lineage wines, together with the greater brand range can be tasted at the McLaren Vale cellar door.

“The company’s customers and partners around the world are already tracking, locating, and monitoring assets including water tanks, vehicles, wind turbines, shipping containers, and equipment and tools.”
These nanosatellites are in the process of being onboarded following their launch on 14th March on SpaceX’s Transporter-13 mission, with more launches set to expand their constellation throughout the year.
