Nick Badrice’s best life

Krondorf Wines’ chief winemaker Nick Badrice chats about walking the Cannes red carpet and letting go of control.

Nick Badrice’s best life

Describe the best day of your life.
I don’t think I can choose, I have so many fond memories – I’ve been incredibly blessed to experience so many ‘best days’ and am always appreciative of every day. If I had to choose one it would be walking the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival alongside so many famous people. It was an amazing opportunity and one I will always treasure.

What is the best photograph you have?
I took this picture of the Barossa Valley in winter. I chose it because it reminds me how lucky we are to live here, surrounded by its natural beauty. It serves as a simple reminder to live in the moment and appreciate the small things in life.

What’s the best advice you’ve been given?
Too many people have influenced me in life to focus on just one piece of advice, however I have a couple of quotes I reflect on which keep me grounded and present “Do what you can, with what you have, where you are” and the other is “If you want something you’ve never had, you must be willing to do something you’ve never done before”

Describe the best meal you’ve ever eaten.
I spent some time living in Spain and fell in love with the people, the culture and the food. I loved the concept of tapas – the Olives, Anchovies and Jamon were so fresh, packed with flavour and pairs extremely with a glass of Garnacha!

What are the best qualities of your favourite person?
Kindness, generosity and humility are the qualities shown by my favourite people. Most also have a sense of humour and don’t take themselves too seriously.

Best five songs on your playlist?
Well, asking to nominate my top five is a tough ask! There are so many great songs but if I had to choose they would be:
● Never Mind – Dennis Lloyd
● Biding My Time – Busby Marou
● Afterglow – Coldplay
● Free Fallin – Tom Petty
● Lack of Water – The Why Store

My life philosophy is…
Live in the moment and while you can’t control everything sometimes you need to relax and have trust that it will work out.
