The iconic A Day On The Green is back for its 24th season, with Peter Lehmann Wines in the Barossa Valley the local venue for a series of unmissable performances headlined by The Teskey Brothers and The Script.

“We couldn’t be more excited about this season’s lineup – there really is something for everyone,” says Michael Newton, the festival’s cofounder.

Since its first outing in January 2001, A Day On The Green has welcomed more than 4 million music lovers across 550-plus shows.

The festival is hosted in wineries across Australia and New Zealand and has hit on a winning combination of the world’s best artists, family-friendly vibes (under-12s get free entry to GA areas) and stunning scenery.

Making a daycation of it – hanging out with friends and family, enjoying a frothy or a vino, escaping the city for the whole day – is made easy.

“People can sit on a rug or a deck chair, they can bring their own picnic, they can have really good quality wine, as is the case with Peter Lehmann, and see multiple artists,” Michael explains.

There’s also a wide variety of food vendors at each event.

Michael says the team is proud to consistently deliver a premium experience for the music lovers who attend, while also helping to boost local tourism.

Those opting to turn a daycation into a longer stay in one of the Barossa’s many towns can prebook a ticket on LinkSA buses running on the day; they’ll also operate from various pickup points across Adelaide and the Adelaide Hills, going to and from the winery.

The Teskey Brothers: A soulful homecoming

Following hot on the heels of Take That and Missy Higgins are Australia’s most soulful siblings, The Teskey Brothers, who are returning home after an international tour that saw them play headline shows across the US, UK and Europe, including major festivals like Bonnaroo and the Wilderness Festival.

The Teskey Brothers’ performance at Peter Lehmann Wines promises to be an epic homecoming that music lovers won’t want to miss.

“After many months on tour overseas we are excited to be bringing the show home for this very special A Day On The Green run in January,” says Josh Teskey.

The band’s musical journey is worth highlighting: their third studio album, The Winding Way, debuted at number one on the ARIA charts and won the ARIA Award for Best Blues and Roots album; they’ve also been recognised for their exceptional songwriting, winning the prestigious Songwriter of the Year award at the 2024 APRA Music Awards.

Critics have been unreserved in their praise. The Music noted, “Whether they were singing, playing guitar or harmonica, or just bouncing off of one another’s energy, The Teskey Brothers made it all seem as easy as breathing – never missing a beat, a note, or an opportunity to have a little fun.”

Josh says he and his brother Sam are excited to be performing at A Day On The Green.

“To make it a full day’s affair, it’s a huge thrill to be bringing together some of our favourite acts from around the world,” he says.

“Honoured to be joined by the epic Band of Horses, Nashville legend Sierra Ferrell, always excited to see CMAT and our local favourite Charlie Needs Braces.”

Not to be missed is The Script‘s A Day On The Green debut on Sunday, February 2.

The Dublin four-piece will bring their Satellites World Tour to the festival, marking their first Australian shows in nearly three years.

This tour is particularly poignant, coming after the passing of bandmate and guitarist Mark Sheehan.

“Australia always holds a special place in our touring hearts,” says lead singer Danny O’Donoghue.

The band will be joined by Brit Award-nominated singer Calum Scott, local pop artist Montaigne, X Ambassadors and Melbourne singer-songwriter Lotte Gallagher.

The band, which formed in 2001, is a longtime favourite with Australian audiences, achieving five Top 10 ARIA album charts and seven Top 40 singles.

Their powerful tracks like Breakeven and Hall of Fame (featuring will.i.am) have become anthems, with the band amassing over 10 billion streams and earning a BRITs Billion Award.

Also coming in the new year is legendary UK dance music icon Fatboy Slim on his Fatboy Slim Loves Australia tour who’ll be transforming Peter Lehmann Wines into the ultimate dance party destination on March 21.
