Adelaide Hills winery Amadio Wines has secured 13 gold medals, including two double golds, plus a trophy in a 30-day winning streak at several of the world’s highly regarded international wine show competitions. (See the full list below.)

Leading the charge was the Sebastien’s Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2021, which claimed the Trophy for Best Cabernet Sauvignon at the AWC Vienna International Wine Challenge, beating entries from more than 40 countries.

The wine was also crowned Sommeliers Top Red of the Competition at the Hong Kong International Wine and Spirits Fair, affirming its place as one of the world’s most celebrated Cabernets this year.

The Sebastien’s Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 captures the unique growing conditions of the Adelaide Hills and winemaker Danniel Amadio’s expert touch in every sip.

The impressive Cabernet exhibits great depth and structure, with a “wow factor” that the winery said placed it in a class of its own.

The recent wins add to Amadio Wines’ tally of more than 80 gold medals over the past decade, largely at international wine shows, and highlight the consistent quality and excellence of the wines, together with Amadio’s talents, refined palate and dedication.

A winery spokesperson said Danniel Amadio “has a knack” for bringing out the best in each grape variety.

“Danniel doesn’t just make wines – he creates experiences [and with] each vintage, he pushes boundaries while staying true to Amadio’s roots,” the spokesperson said.

“At the heart of these achievements is the specific vineyard site in Kersbrook, Adelaide Hills, which produces the perfect growing conditions for the grapes that are then crafted into outstanding award-winning wines.

“This balance of tradition and innovation keeps wine lovers coming back for more, and the recent accolades only underscore the impact he’s making in the wine world.

“These achievements aren’t just a win for Amadio Wines; they’re a proud moment for South Australia’s Adelaide Hills.

“Danniel’s dedication to his craft, combined with the Adelaide Hills’ perfect growing conditions, has put this region firmly on the global wine map.

“Amadio Wines exemplifies the very best of South Australian winemaking, delivering a quality and character that resonate far beyond local borders.”
