I really find it hard to believe that the poor taxpayers of this state continue to get bombarded with thought bubbles and waste of time mini fixes for our deplorable hospital system. It is obvious to all but politicians that our hospitals, and the RAH in particular are not fit for purpose. This disaster will only get worse with time.
Some brave soul will need to decide to build a new hospital. There is no alternative. More festivals and footy, or announcements of green hydrogen projects are nought but cheap tricks. – Dr Michael Adams
How many more ‘upgrades’ are we expected to have? This is ridiculous. Every time the green area gets smaller, more trees disappear. Some upgrades were downright ugly. Spend money where it’s really needed. – Lynne Clarke
Another proposal that thumbs its nose at Planning Regs etc. Only 192 car parking spaces for 202 apartments plus offices etc. What happened to the Premier’s latest proposal for 1 space for 1 bedroom and 2 spaces for 2 or more bedrooms. Where is parking for office staff and visitors. Removal of significant trees seems to poke fun at every Council’s so called desire to increase the green canopy – replacement plants likely to be the equivalent of shrubs. If this development gets approved, it will mean Planning Regs are just another laughing stock. – Graham Tench
I’m sure the students could walk further. This plan trashes our heritage once again. I’m glad I’ll be dead before it happens as no way will it be built in less than five years. Put it on Bowden Brompton or Thebarton or Mile End. A good walk to exercise and clear the head through the park lands – that’s if there are any left. – Virginia Mageri
It seems we are privatising our public hospital system by stealth. We are doing our elective surgery in private hospitals and getting private health groups to look after our patients in hotels. I don’t recall voting for this. – Rowan Chandler
What a fabulous article Marc Algrove has written. Never a truer statement has been written for years. You can’t teach resilience as it comes from the school of hard knocks and learning by one’s mistakes. You get knocked over and dust yourself off and get on with life without finding something or someone to blame. – William Howard
I note there have been two “opinion” pieces from Mike Smithson recently included with the InDaily production. I have an opinion that both articles lack political balance. His latest effort could have been written by Francis Bedford’s campaign manager. – Dean Flowers
I enjoyed Mike Smithson’s piece on Lot 14, the Premier’s partiality for sport, but he might have pointed out that his style is the closest thing to Scott Morrison that Australia has to offer. – Richard Green
The SA Premier has made too many promises and fools no one, it’s such a shame on him the Aboriginal Arts Centre looks like Gaza on a sunny day. Shame on him for spending twice the sum of money (the art centre) on his pet project the Hydrogen Power Plant on the Eyre Peninsula. Which appears to be a total failure. – Simon and Carolyn Nash
I wish you had made the point in your excellent piece on Tarrkarri that the original vision supported by and embraced by Premier Jay Weatherill’s government fell victim to stupid politicking by Steven Marshall who deliberately neglected the AGSA vision and brilliant architecture because he was a “Liberal visionary” and Arts Minister and wanted a populist concept that really would be a commercial disaster. That design and vision had legs… This thing doesn’t. – Robert Hill-Smith
