New District Court Judge named

A respected Adelaide barrister has been named as the replacement for outgoing District Court Judge, Paul Slattery.

Barrister Suzanne Mackenzie has been appointed to the District Court, filling the vacancy left by the retirement of Judge Paul Slattery.

Mackenzie brings with her more than 30 years of experience in the profession.

She was a founding partner of DMAW Lawyers and a partner at Piper Alderman, before more recently joining Bar Chambers in 2018.

SA Attorney-General Kyam Maher said he was delighted to see Mackenzie take on the position.

“Ms Mackenzie has extensive experience in the profession, focusing primarily on financial services, superannuation, trusts, corporate law and other commercial work,” he said.

“I would also like to pay tribute to outgoing Judge Paul Slattery and thank him for his nearly 13 years of service to the District Court.”

Mackenzie will start in the role on February 27.
