Police and ambulance services said they were called to a beach near Point Connor just south of Beachport shortly after 11.30am on Monday after reports that “a boat had capsized and three people were unresponsive on shore”.

Two men aged 69 and 82 were pronounced dead at the scene while a 59-year-old woman was taken to hospital.

Police said there were no suspicious circumstances around the incident.

“Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident are ongoing with the assistance of the Water Operations Unit,” police said.

“Police will be preparing a report for the Coroner.”

All three people are from Millicent, police said.

Meanwhile, emergency services have concluded a search for a person reported to be missing in waters off Henley Beach.

Police said the alarm was raised shortly after 1.20pm after witnesses “lost sight of a person in the water”.

After an extensive search using Surf Life Saving patrols and Polair and drones, there have been no further sightings and no reports of anyone missing or other information has been received.
