A teenager has died after her car hit a concrete truck and a pedestrian was critically injured in separate incidents on the Port Wakefield Highway overnight.
Police and emergency services were called to Waterloo Corner at the intersection of Port Wakefield Highway and McEvoy Road at 12:15 this morning after reports a truck and car had collided.
The car driver, a 19-year-old Buckland Park woman, died at the scene.
The truck driver was taken to hospital with minor injuries, and is assisting police with investigations.
The intersection was closed while Major Crash officers attended the scene, but since reopened.
Less than three hours later at 2:30am, police and emergency services were called to the intersection of Port Wakefield Highway and Richardson Road at Lower Light after reports a truck had hit a pedestrian.
The 29-year-old Osborne woman was taken to hospital with critical injuries.
A 38-year-old Unley Park man driving the truck was uninjured and is assisting police with investigations.
Port Wakefield Highway remains closed for southbound traffic from Richardson Road and diversions are in place. Police have asked motorists to avoid the area.
