Adelaide Airport’s main terminal has been evacuated and flights are expected to be delayed after a security breach this morning.
Investigations are underway after a security breach occurred in the main terminal this morning at around 11:00.
The airport said in a statement that it was understood passengers arrived on a regional flight and entered the terminal without being adequately screened.
The terminal was evacuated as a result, with all passengers having to be re-screened for entry.
“There are likely to be some flight delays as a result, and passengers are asked to check with their carrier for the latest flight information,” the statement said.
“We apologise to our customers impacted this morning and appreciate their patience and understanding.”
A security breach in 2022 saw around 2000 passengers at Adelaide Airport re-screened after the main terminal was evacuated due to a faulty walk-through security scanner. At that time around 10 domestic flights and one international flight were delayed.
