Attendees at World Expo 2025 Osaka will be able to enjoy a cold Coopers beer at Australia’s pavilion from 13 April.

More than 750 cases are headed to the six-month-long World Expo, with the beer ordered to supply just the first three months of the event.

Visitors to the pavilion will also be able to taste Southern Bluefin Tuna, South Australian lamb and beef and wines from the state at the Australia Pavilion café and during live demonstrations.

Coopers director of global and key accounts Andrew Cooper said South Australia had “truly world class food and beverage products to share with the world”.

“We’re pleased Coopers beers will be on offer to guests attending the Expo including our popular great tasting Coopers Australian Lager and Original Pale Ale,” he said.

The state government partnered with the Federal Government to join Team Australia at the Pavilion during the six-month-long exhibition via a $1 million investment.

It hopes to further bolster trading relationships with Japan. In the year to January 2025, Japan imported $643.5 million of South Australian goods and was the state’s eight largest export partner.

More than 28 million people are anticipated to visit the World Expo from 13 April to 13 October, while more than 15,000 visitors are expected to visit the Australia Pavilion every day.

Australia’s pavilion was designed by architectural firm Buchan and was constructed using reusable materials, including modular elements previously used at the Tokyo 202 Olympics.

Australia’s Expo theme is “Chasing the Sun”, and is designed to showcase the nation’s clean energy and low-emissions technologies.

“World Expo 2025 Osaka will strengthen our important relationship with Japan – one of our oldest and most trusted trading partners,” Szakacs said.

“With around 28 million people expected to attend World Expo, South Australia is putting its best foot forward, to showcase brands, produce and key export products, to further strengthen our export economy.”
