Sherry Duhe has begun as Santos’s chief financial officer following Anthea McKinnell’s retirement.
Duhe has a 28-year career in the oil and gas industry, holding senior finance, commercial and merger roles across Australia, the United States, Europe and the Middle East.
She was most recently interim CEO of gold miner Newcrest Limited and helped negotiate its sale to Newmont.
Before this, she spent four years as chief financial officer at Woodside Energy, as well as 13 years at Shell, where she held various international finance roles.
“Sherry is a highly skilled and experienced executive in finance and the energy sector,” said Santos managing director and CEO Kevin Gallagher.
“Sherry’s demonstrated financial capability, knowledge of the complex and dynamic energy and financial markets in which Santos operates, and experience in engaging with investors, capital markets and governments, positions her well to support the Santos management team and board of directors in delivering superior value for our shareholders into the future.”
Education minister Blair Boyer has announced that Ingrid Haythorpe will chair the TAFE SA board following the retirement of Joanne Denley.
Boyer said that in her past five years as chair, Denley has “provided guidance and vision for TAFE SA as it navigated training through the COVID-19 pandemic, participated in the Roadmap for the Future of TAFE SA and launched the 10-year TAFE SA Strategic Plan 2023-2033″.
Haythorpe has been a member of the TAFE SA board since the beginning of the year and will start her tenure on October 15.
Haythorpe is a former deputy chief executive in the Department of Premier and Cabinet and a former chief executive of the Attorney General’s department.
In addition to Haythorpe’s appointment, the TAFE SA board will welcome Andrew Clarke, Helen Strickland, Sharon Gollan, Professor Susan James Relly and Nicolle Rantanen Reynolds as board members.
Megan Antcliff was welcomed as chair of Carclew at the launch of its new strategic plan last week.
Carclew said that Antcliff was a “creative and inspiring leader known for her proven track record in assembling high-performing teams focused on creating lasting value”.
“With a background in science and architecture, alongside substantial experience in senior public and private sector roles, she offers a unique blend of creative and critical thinking,” it said.
Antcliff is currently director of infrastructure and major programs at Turner & Townsend.
Before this, she was deputy chief executive for the South Australian Department of Trade and Investment.
Energy minister Tom Koutsantonis has been appointed chair of the USG Intergovernmental Group (USGIG), replacing outgoing chair Geoff Brock MP.
In his role, Koutsantonis will advance current issues on the USGIG agenda, including workforce and skills, housing, social impact and growth and investment attraction.
USGIG said its key objectives are to “oversee and initiate joint action to ensure the Spencer Gulf can deliver and support sustainable long-term economic growth, driven by green transition,” and to “focus on regional issues, consider social, economic and environmental matters and the impacts of growth while recognising differences and local interests”.

Ryan McClenaghan has begun today as director of defence and space at UniSA.
UniSA said McClenaghan will be “responsible for steering research and education across the sector at a pivotal time in the nation’s defence history”.
McClenaghan has been director of defence and national security at Fleet Space Technologies for the past three years.
Since relocating from Northern Ireland to Australia in 2006, McClenaghan has held roles at companies like the Australian Industry Group and Micro-X, as well as co-founding two start-ups.
Peter Stevens, who is UniSA director of enterprise partnerships, said “McClenaghan will strengthen the University’s defence and space footprint with industry and governments in Australia and worldwide”.
Experienced real estate professional Mandy Beresford has been appointed property manager of the Cohen Group’s commercial and industrial division.
Beresford has over 14 years of experience in property management, having previously been centre manager of JLL and Charter Hall.
The Cohen Group said Beresford “will play a pivotal role in overseeing the management of the commercial and industrial properties in the company’s portfolio”.
The Cohen Group is a property management, investment and development company that manages the Burnside Village and other industrial and commercial properties.
Andrew MacDonald has stepped down as the CEO of the Town of Walkerville and will return to his hometown of Goolwa as CEO at Alexandrina Council.
During his time at Walkerville, MacDonald advanced the redevelopment of 39 Smith Street recreation centre (the former YMCA) and the Walkerville Oval precinct.
“In his short tenure, Andrew’s contributions to the Town of Walkerville have made a lasting impact – particularly in fostering a ‘One Team’ approach with Council Members, staff and our community,” said Walkerville mayor Melissa Jones.
The Town of Walkerville has now begun a recruitment process to identify MacDonald’s successor.
Shout Digital Agency has appointed Matilda Toepfer, who is based in Adelaide, to the newly created role of head of growth.
The national digital agency, which is headquartered in Melbourne, said that Toepfer will lead growth across Australia and into the global marketplace.
Before joining Shout Digital, Toepfer spent eight years at Fuller Brand Communication, where she was digital marketing strategist and head of digital.
She also worked in the United Kingdom as a digital strategist at Online Ventures Group and a social media manager at Maximum Social Marketing.
Shout Digital Agency said it has expanded its workforce by 20 per cent in the first half of 2024 as part of an “ambitious growth strategy” to double its number of clients by the end of 2026.
