HEY DJ – A History of Hip Hop

Starring acclaimed DJ YO! MAFIA alongside talented MCs, vocalists and dancers, this immersive experience celebrates the rich tapestry of hip hop culture through music, dance and storytelling. HEY DJ – A History of Hip Hop is new to Gluttony’s music lineup and takes you on an educational yet body movin’ journey through the streets of the Bronx to today’s global phenomenon.

YO! MAFIA leads the charge with her 25 years of DJ herstory, joined by Eliza Wolfgramm (The Avalanches) and MC Kirk (Heaven, HQ, Big 90s Show, Planet), plus Adelaide’s own breakers, poplockers and hip hop dancers.

It’s time to celebrate the cultural phenomenon that has shaped music and society worldwide, as a voice for the voiceless and a catalyst for change. It’s time to GET ON UP & DROP IT LOW to HEY DJ.

HEY DJ is a standing event with a dancefloor in front of the stage in The Flamingo tent at Gluttony. Seating is available behind the standing area.
