New Found Sound is back in the Port on January 18, with over 30 of SA’s emerging and established artists playing across 10 venues.

The free one-night-only music festival New Found Sound kicks off at 6pm, encouraging punters to walk through the diverse venues in the Port and enjoy shows from emerging and established artsits.

Contemporary art space Vitalstatistix inside the heritage-listed Waterside Workers Hall will host feminist punk rockers Pest Control, hypnotic vocalist Georgia Oatley with gothic theatrics by Mondo Psycho, fronted by Carla Lippis, closing the night.

Fresh off supporting Cold Chisel at the Adelaide 500, Tonix will close the night at Pirate Life Brewery’s beer garden after whimsical singer-songwriter My Cherie and pop band Pash.

For a fully immersive sound and light experience, experimental electronic artist Blood Circle will take over the world’s oldest surviving clipper ship, the City of Adelaide. The ship was built in 1864 and is permanently docked at Dock 2 Honey Street.

SA Maritime Museum will host Pascoe/Martin, San Ureshi and David Kotlowy with the museum open to the public all night to check out the state’s maritime history.

Port Adelaide’s dimly-lit Americana-inspired bar 10 Gallon Hat will start the night with unique groove band Live Slug Reaction, followed by soul act Tell Mama and four-piece jungle house jazz doof band Silk.

Other familiar names from CityMag’s Best New Music column are on the lineup including post-punk rockers The Genevieves and singer-songwriter Chloe Sea.

As you navigate the Port’s venues, there’ll be pop-up performances in Iparrityi Laneway curated by Carclew, with emerging artists soundtracking the journey including Pearly Stars, Awnings and Emerauld.

This is the second year the City of Port Adelaide Enfield has put on New Found Sound, and it is presented in partnership with the national Live Music Office and APRA AMCOS as part of the Live and Local program.
