More than a fabulous awards night, the SALIFE Awards, presented by Brand South Australia, recognise the contribution people and businesses make to our state. Nominate a worthy contender by midnight this Sunday.
For the past month, we’ve been asking our readers to nominate their favourite brands, people and businesses for the SALIFE Awards, presented by Brand South Australia and Solstice Media – the publisher of this masthead.
While it’s quite a spectacular and engaging way to bring the pages of SALIFE to life, there’s more to it than simply crowning category winners.
By acknowledging the people and companies who contribute to our state’s enviable lifestyle, and helping our favourite businesses to thrive, we’re also spotlighting the diversity of industries that are needed to create a strong and resilient state economy.
At last count, there were 155,221 small businesses in the state, accounting for 97 per cent of all businesses operating here.
With the SALIFE Awards spanning everything from design to sustainability to people and brands, a good number of these would fall into one of the categories. As would those 4000+ medium and large businesses whose brands are often household names.
Simply put, all of our readers would know a worthy contender for at least one category. (Nominating takes only a minute – do it here.)
The SALIFE Awards presenting partner Brand SA is on a similar mission.
Trade and Investment Minister Joe Szakacs called the awards “a true celebration of South Australia and all the world-class companies, brands and experiences on offer that make our state a great place to own a business, live and enjoy”.
Through the State Brand – which is used by more and more businesses – Brand SA is providing an easily identifiable mark to share what’s good about our state with local and global audiences. The awards align with their broad mission, to build confidence in our state and celebrate South Australia’s people, product and places.
Looking at the sectors that most use the State Brand is like taking a snapshot of South Australia.
We have a robust service economy spanning both skilled trades and knowledge-based professions; strong food, beverage and agribusiness sectors, a well-rounded economy that values traditional industries like manufacturing and innovative, creative enterprises; and industries representing crucial growth areas for our state, like tourism, health and medical industries and hi-tech industries.
Nominating them in the SALIFE Awards is a simple acknowledgment of all the good they do. Nominate a business or person here.
