Angus & Julia Stone, Matt Corby, The Jungle Giants and more are set to play at Handpicked Festival in November.
Handpicked Festival is back for its 10th year at the family-run property Lake Breeze Wines in Langhorne Creek on Saturday, November 9.
Angus & Julia Stone will headline the festival with their new album Cape Forestier. This album was the first time the brother-sister duo have reunited after seven years apart.
Despite this, fans still expect to hear the Angus & Julia classics like ‘Big Jet Plane’ and ‘Nothing Else’.
“This iconic duo will enchant the crowd with their harmonious vocals and heartfelt lyrics, creating an intimate and emotive atmosphere on the lawns at Lake Breeze,” Kate Cooper, Handpicked Festival creator says.
Matt Corby returns to the Handpicked stage after playing in 2017 with his “soulful voice”, set to play tracks from his latest album Everything’s Fine which was released at the start of 2023.
With tracks like ‘Resolution’, ‘Brother’ and a new track featuring Aussie vocal powerhouse Meg Mac titled ‘Bricks’, there is plenty to sing along to.
After performing in sell-out shows across the UK, the “high-energy” Jungle Giants will also be gracing the stage at Lake Breeze Wines.
Their latest single ‘Trippin Up’ and four albums worth of tunes will create a party-like show.
Other artists on the lineup include Pete Murray, The Dreggs, CYRIL, Coterie and Azure Ryder.
There are currently no South Australian artists on this year’s Handpicked Festival lineup but Kate says something special will be announced soon, as the 2023 iteration hosted local talents aleksiah and Rob Edwards.
Kate says that Handpicked’s secret to longevity is its connection to the local community.
Handpicked prides itself on its community-focused event and says this is part of the reason they have been able to push through the changing shift in the live music landscape as festivals like Groovin the Moo and Vintage Vibes have been forced to cancel.
Throughout the festival’s entirety, it has always taken place on Kate’s family-owned property and has continued to be run within the family despite its growth over a decade.
Handpicked also has a point of difference by being family-friendly and introducing The Hideaway as a safe space for parents and children, particularly when breastfeeding.
Handpicked Festival will take place on Saturday, November 9 at Lake Breeze Wines at 319 Step Road, Langhorne Creek.
