The lineup for this year’s second Poppin Out Festival has been announced, with Pride March going through the city to kick off the event.
Adelaide queer nightclub Marys Poppin hosted its first Poppin Out Festival in February this year in the form of a street party outside the club’s Synagogue Place venue.
Headlining the next festival on November 2 will be X-Factor alumni Samantha Jade and iconic ‘Strawberry Kisses’ singer Nikki Webster.
Joining the pair will be Australian queer singer-songwriter and The Great Gatsby actor Brendan Maclean, regular Marys’ drag queen Kane Enable, and RuPaul’s Drag Race Down Under stars Kween Kong and Art Simone.
Other local queens set to appear are Alison Xpress, Berri Juicy, Ellie Delight, Estelle, Eve Elle, Luci Furr, Minty Hydrangea, Wundes and Xai Borg.
The line-up includes several DJs: I Remember House DJ Set will appear, alongside DJ Argonaut, DJ Chip, Indi Klosette, DJ Josif, and DJ Dan Murphy.
In a new collaboration, Pride Adelaide’s 51st annual Pride March will be hosted on the same day, with marchers leaving from Murlawirrapurka/Rymill Park to walk a loop via East Terrace, North Terrace, Pulteney Street and Rundle Street, before heading to Synagogue Place ready to dance the night away.

Pride Adelaide chair Eric Kuhlmann spoke of the significance of the march.
“As we commemorate 51 years of Pride in Adelaide, our new route through the city’s east side symbolises a vibrant future and a closer connection to our community’s core,” Kuhlmann says.
“Collaborating with Poppin Out allows us to amplify our celebration and further enhance our commitment to inclusivity and acceptance.”
Marys Poppin owner and director of Poppin Out Stephen Craddock says Pride March “invites everyone to defiantly be themselves, to step up and demand visibility for who they are, the same values we built Poppin Out on”.
“After the community’s response to Poppin Out during Adelaide Fringe we are beyond excited to do it all again by partnering with Pride Adelaide for the ultimate celebration of pride,” Craddock says.
February’s Poppin Out Festival was initially planned to take place in the Adelaide Gaol, but was downsized a month before the event, due to “the shifting economic landscape affecting entertainment venues across South Australia”.
Poppin Out will be held at Synagogue Place and Marys Poppin on November 2 from 3pm, with Adelaide’s Pride March commencing at 2pm from Rymill Park. Poppin Out tickets are on sale now.
