It was a tumultuous year for Adelaide music festivals as organisers battled with the cost of operating. But there’s still a handful going ahead this summer to tie you over until Mad March.

A free party in the Adelaide park lands is presented by nightclub Sugar and the new audio arm of local promoters Inside Out throughout the summer.
On December 28, two American house heavy hitters, Alton Miller and Scott Grooves (USA) will play, along with local Fin Le Guin teaming up with Melbourne’s Hannah D for a b2b to segway the night into a techno set.
The Sugar Park Pres series is being presented in collaboration with other local promoters like Small City Systems, Happy Station, Yax Programs and more which are showcasing local, interstate and international talent.

Where: Ellis Park/Tampawardli
Cost: $129+
Adelaide’s Ellis Park/Tampawardli will play host to Culture’s biggest outdoor festival yet with two stages of electronic music.
Headlining is Australian DJ Will Sparks, with Netherlands DJ and producer Radical Redemption. They’re joined by Restricted, Dimatik Audiofreq and more.

Where: Ellis Park/Tampawardli
Cost: $129+
Wildlands will return to Ellis Park/Tampawardli in January, with the Grammy-nominated Gold Coast-raised Fisher headlining.
Joining Fisher are American pop rapper Ice Spice and UK Drum and bass duo Chase & Status.
Also playing the one-day Adelaide leg of the festival are Berlin DJ and producer Marlon Hoffstadt, aka DJ Daddy Trance, and American singer-songwriter Tinashe.
Sydney duo Royal Otis, English singer-songwriter Lola Young and First Nations rapper Baarka will also perform.

Melbourne’s The Teskey Brothers are headlining the 2025 event at its South Australian leg at a Barossa Valley winery.
US rock performers Band of Horses will play at the festival, making their first Australian shows since 2016, following their 2024 release Acoustic At The Ryman Vol.2.
American country singer-songwriter Sierra Ferrel, Irish musician CMAT and Naarm musician Charlie Needs Braces complete the lineup.

New Found Sound is a homegrown festival with over 30 of SA’s emerging and established artists playing across 10 venues in Port Adelaide.
Feminist punk rockers Pest Control, hypnotic vocalist Georgia Oatley and gothic theatrics by Mondo Psycho, fronted by Carla Lippis will play at Vitalstatistix.
Fresh off supporting Cold Chisel at the Adelaide 500, Tonix will close the night at Pirate Life Brewery’s beer garden after whimsical singer-songwriter My Cherie and pop band Pash.
The free one-night-only music festival New Found Sound kicks off at 6pm, encouraging punters to walk through the diverse venues in the Port and enjoy shows from emerging and established artists.

It’s finally Adelaide’s turn for a Brat Summer, with Charli xcx headlining Laneway.
The album Brat launched Charli xcx, who has been releasing music since her Myspace days in 2008, to a whole new level of stardom and with it, the social phenomenon: Brat Summer.
Joining Charli as an exclusive Laneway performer are American indie soft rock extraordinaire Clairo and British singer-songwriter Beabadoobee.
Djo, the critically acclaimed brainchild of Stranger Things actor Joe Keery will make his Australian debut at Laneway. Also on the lineup are Barry Can’t Swim, Bicep, Remi Wolf, Olivia Dean, Skeggs and more.

Adelaide’s electronic festival Sidebyside from local production company Pivot is back for 2025.
Special guests J.Hennessy back-to-back with Wallace & Malone, Mel Lake and Pia & Brigitte will perform.
Netherlands artist Tjade will be back-to-back with Aussie Bella Claxton, UK DJ Jasper James and duo Make A Dance, the brainchild of Ben Lewis & Josh Ludlow.
Aussie artists playing at the festival include Andy Garvey back to back with DJ Scorpion, Bella Claxton, Eluize, Jennifer Loveless and Merve.

Nice Day To Go To The Club returns for its third year of bringing together Adelaide’s punk and garage rock scene in an all-ages gig thanks to local label Daybed Records.
In partnership with the Port Noarlunga Football Club, they’ll fill out two stages with Regurgitator and Ruby Fields headlining, joined by Tumbleweed, Where’s The Pope and These New South Whales.
Familiar names from CityMag’s best new music column Swapmeet and Sunsick Daisy are on the lineup, along with locals Kurralta Park and heaps more.
